BOSTON, MA – Activists from a number of Boston-based social and environmental justice organizations are collaborating to plan for a rally and action in Copley Square on Tuesday, April 1st. In coordination with actions taking place around the globe, Boston’s Fossil Fools Day protesters will expose the fossil fuels industry, which is the largest contributor to climate change and responsible for massive human rights violations around the world.

“Climate change is one of the most serious problems facing our planet and our communities today, and it’s not just about carbon in the atmosphere,” said Erin Fitzgerald, who helped organize the action. “The people who are most affected by the mining and burning of fossil fuels are already oppressed by the economic system that requires so much dirty energy. We need real community solutions now.”
